Now I teach other women how to lose weight for good by going back to the basics.

You don’t need to spend more time in the gym.

And you shouldn’t approach weight loss like you did in your 20s and 30s.

But you DO need to make lifestyle changes tailored specifically to your needs as a woman over 40. Every day, I work with women who are right where you are now. And I was once there myself.

Over five years ago, I was in your shoes, wondering if I would ever find what works for my body to lose weight and keep it off. I didn’t want to spend countless hours in the gym or count macros to achieve my weight loss goals. The tracking method wasn’t working for me. Although I initially lost weight, I was still fatigued and the weight always came back.

Let me take you back in time to what led me to the work I am doing today. I grew up in a home with a mom who loved her sweets. We had a junk food drawer loaded with treats like Ding Dongs, Twinkies, cupcakes, and candy. The only fresh veggies I was eating came straight from a can. 

As you can imagine, I struggled with health challenges as a kid that I now know were directly related to my diet. I experienced anxiety and depression and always struggled with my weight. I dealt with hair loss in my early teen years, psoriasis, and was eventually diagnosed with hypothyroidism as an adult.

The turning point for me came in 2017. I was on the phone with my son's pediatrician’s office when they asked for his date of birth and I completely blanked. I was mortified! I couldn’t retrieve the information and found myself second-guessing my answer. I only have two children, so it’s not like I had to remember lots of dates. That’s when I knew something was seriously wrong. 

I was barely 40 and dealing with dementia-like symptoms. I went to my family doctor for help and also shared I was depressed, fatigued, and couldn’t get through my days without needing a nap. He told me it was normal for moms to be tired and forgetful and recommended an antidepressant for my anxiety and depression symptoms. I tried the medication for a few months, but it didn’t help.

The treatment protocol from my doctor didn’t sit well with me, so I decided to explore functional medicine. I have to tell you, it has been the BEST decision for my health. Functional medicine treats the root cause of symptoms. Making lifestyle changes had the biggest impact on my weight loss journey and improving my symptoms—something my previous doctor never mentioned.

As a functional medicine health coach, I guide women over 40 to feel amazing in their bodies by helping them lose weight and improve their energy levels and confidence. I've had the privilege of guiding many women on their journey to weight loss and improved health, helping them achieve their goals and reclaim their vitality that they didn’t think was possible.
